Tim Smith

Tim Smith (born 1961) is an English musician, songwriter, and producer, best known as the frontman of the avant-garde rock band Cardiacs. Blending elements of punk, progressive rock, and pop, Smith's work is characterized by its complex arrangements, eccentric lyrics, and energetic performances. Cardiacs gained a cult following in the 1980s and 1990s with albums such as "A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window" (1988) and "Sing to God" (1996). Smith’s innovative songwriting and unique sound have influenced a wide range of artists, from the post-rock genre to progressive metal bands. Despite facing health challenges, including a severe heart condition that led to a heart attack in 2008, Smith continued to create music. His work has been praised for its originality and emotional depth, contributing to the development of the underground music scene in the UK.
